I asked this question about my barber dime, it is a 1953 barber dime. And I needed to know what the value was. During my intrest about it, I found with my magnifying glass it had on the lower neck of Roosevelt it has JS on it, also on the back of it at the lower left of the ivy leaf it has a D. So if you can add to your answer in the past couple days please add any information, It would help alot thank you.I asked about a barber dime that I have 1953?
A 1953 dime is a Roosevelt dime not a Barber dime. Barber dimes were minted from 1892-1916. The D is a mint mark and it stands for the Denver mint in Denver Colorado. The JS is the designers initials, they stand for John R. Sinnock. The coin is 90% silver and has a total weight of 2.50 grams. It has .07234 oz. of pure silver in it.
