Can any diseases be transmitted during a visit to a barber saloon?

When I had my hair cut yesterday I saw a disinfectant on the table of one of the barbers. he told me that it is used to disinfect the instruments. Does that mean that lice or some other critters or diseases could be transferred from one person to another during a hair cut?Can any diseases be transmitted during a visit to a barber saloon?
State Law requires we disinfect our combs, brushes and other instruments after using them. We are also not allowed to touch someones hair if lice is found and then we must disinfect our chair, sink, any thing that came in contact with the infected person and change our smock and wash our hands. I also Lysol down my door handles, trash cans, station and anything else others touch and come in contact with to kill any germs like the cold or flu.Plus since salons have so much hair and color on the floor we are not only always sweeping but mopping as well. As a stylist and salon owner I can say most salons are probably cleaner then a doctors waiting room. Can any diseases be transmitted during a visit to a barber saloon?
don't worry about it, it's a precaution; mainly for peace of mind. do you like the idea of getting your hair combed with the same comb the stylist just accidentally dropped on the floor?
