What is a good price to charge in a new Barber Shop In Wasilla, Alaska?

Barber has 6 years experince in barbering.

If it were too cheap, would you think of it as a less ';quality'; haircut? What is a good price to charge in a new Barber Shop In Wasilla, Alaska?
I am a Barber down here in Asheville, NC, Barbers here charge anywhere from $9 to $15. Now, it is probably different up there, and I don't know what the poulation is, or how many other barbers there are. It also depends, do you shave around the neck and ears? If you do a haircut and shave around the ears and neck I would charge 10 or $11. But if you include a beard trim for free like I do. Then I would ask $12. But if you don't do alot of them then I would charge $11. Its only $2 more than the base charges. And if you think you will get more regular customers, instead of just doing fades all the time. that would make it more rounded. But it is so hard to tell, you know how some people raise hell if you go up $1 dollar in ten years like $1 extra every month or 6 weeks is going to break the bank. Just remember, you can always lower your price, but raising it is a little harder, you tend to lose cutomers that way. The best way is to ask yourself what you think your services are worth, not what everyone else charges. Start at $12, and if people think it is too much then lower it. Also, try to find out what the other shops DON';T do and try to do it, and then that way people won't mind paying an extra dollar or two. Sorry for such a long answer, thank you. Have a great day!!What is a good price to charge in a new Barber Shop In Wasilla, Alaska?
Probably go up to $12 and yes if you don't charge enough it doesn't seem like a quality cut. My son is in the army there in Alaska. In Georgia at our salon we charge $20-$25 for a haircut. Military guys that come in - we don't charge and we thank them for their service. We feel like that is the least we can do for guys that are putting their life in danger to protect us. These kids away from their family they can feel very lonely especially in Alaska they can become very depressed. Thank a soldier.
if u pay 10 dollars for a haircut, youre going to get a 10 dollar haircut. id make it 15 bones
It all depends. I have paid $50+ for a basic haircut in a high class salon in Southern California. If you are a small salon similar to ';Super Cuts'; or ';Fantastic Sams'; I would charge around $12 for a cut. Once you start to factor in the expensive shampoos and products you will be using, then I would charge in the $20 range. Keep your prices low to start out so you'll attract some customers, but once you build up a clientele, then charge a little more.

More or less, $20 is safe no matter if it is an upscale or a down home environment!
