The answer varies from state to state. Check with the new state's Board of Cosmetology or Barbering and find out what the requirements for a transfer of license are. In some states licensees have reciprocity (one state recognizes the license of another state), other states do not.Is a California barber license valid in another state?
Most of the time you can have your hours transferred to the state you are now in. You may have to take that states board exams again. Try to contact the states board fo cosmetology to find out. You can call a cosmetology school and they should be able to give you a number to call so you can find out. But I think your license has to be in that state in order for it to be valid.
