How is the paradox about the barber shaving everybody a Paradox?

There is a village where the barber shaves all those and only those who do not shave themselves. Who shaves the barber?

The barber is a woman. The barber is neither capable of shaving, nor needs a shave, because there is nothing to be shaved. Checkmate...How is the paradox about the barber shaving everybody a Paradox?
The barber does not have to be part of that village, he is just the barber that works in that village. So when he goes home, he shaves himself.How is the paradox about the barber shaving everybody a Paradox?
There is a village where the barber shaves all those and only those who do not shave themselves. Who shaves the barber?

I think the barber shaves himself. Is it possible that ';who do not shave themselves'; means the hair has grown. And there is no actual restriction as to who shaves it?

You have to look at this like a math problem. People are thinking to hard about the words. Let's say we replace barber with farmer and shave with feed. We also have to assume that the barber/farmer is a part of the group. If he/she feeds ALL and ONLY those who who don't feed themselves and he/she is part of this group then a paradox occurs.

If she feeds herself then based on the rule she ONLY feeds those who don't feed themselves... not possible {undefined}

If she does not feed herself then based on the rule that can not be possible either because she feeds ALL who don't feed themselves. This means anyone can feed her but, not forgetting the rule, she must feed herself because she feeds ALL who don't feed themselves. Again {undefined}

This is why this is a paradox. Anyone who gives you an actual answer is ignoring the rule set in the question and is automatically wrong.

People are trying to solve it instead of answer why it is what it is.
Try this...STOP reading after the first appearance of the word ';those';...what do you get?...This...

There is a village where the barber shaves all those...

There's your answer, to those logic freaks out there who are laughing, explain this...

How is it possible for the barber to not be a part of a group called ';all those';? It is impossible...unless he dies when ';all'; are together, and then suddenly reincarnates (like Weekend at Bernie's) when the whole self-shaving topic comes up...I mean come on...he shaves ';all those';...period...';all those';...after that, you can write ';and only those who own two pet baby zebras, paint their eyebrows green and serenade banana slugs with Hip-Hop songs while balancing their checkbook';...it doesn't matter...once he shaves ';all those'; that's it, game over, capisce?
Nice try, but it says that the barber shaves ALL those that do not shave themselves. All, not just the men, women are not excluded. Also the statement does not say where the barber shaves for all we know the barber could shave a woman's legs or elsewhere and women are not completely hairless on their faces as well.

So not checkmate
to many people over thought this ...the barber shaves all those ....and only those ( they are the same) who dont shave themselves ... he shave's himself ... pure logic ... cause he's not part of the group who doesn't shave themselves ... someone else would have to shave him creating this so called paradox there is no wife or anyone else to do it for him or the riddle would have gave a hint to such a thing ... for example ...( the chicken crossed the road.... to get to the other side) thats called occam's razor the simplest answer is usually the correct one.... and also the question is not gender specific but traditionaly barbers are men
the barber is a woman!!..right on to the person above me, was just gonna right that. who says the barber has to be a man...we assume because most gender titles are male attached..ie..dr, lawyer, dentist,chef, firefighter and so on...wish i would have gotten it first....lol.
I disagree because woman shave too...If the barbar only shaves ppl who do not shave themself and that barbar cant shave him/her self...then another barbar would do it...doesnt say there is only one barbar so thus they shave each other
