There are only a few basic short bangs cuts. With a Crew Cut or Flat Top Crew Cut, the bangs are brushed back off the forehead.

Hi,I'm a retired Cosmetologist.To answer your question I would need to know if you're speaking about booth rental,or if you are paying or getting a %.I live in California now,and the cost of space/booth rental is outrageous.Also the cost of services are outrageous,without the quality being improved.So for me I'm going to have to say, it depends on where you're at,and the cost of services.For my salon,I charged $75.00 a week for rental.And for those just starting out and were trying to build a clientele,I went 70/30.As soon as they had clientele,they went to rental,with a rental agreement that they were responsible for they're own taxes.If you are in an upper class area where you can charge top dollar for services,stylists have no problem Paying $75.00 a wk. rent.However in my rental agreement, my stylist were to attend regular classes to make sure they were up to date on the latest cuts,trends,etc.You want your shop to be a place where people don't mind paying for top quality services.All it takes is one stylist,that's always late,doesn't show up,looks messy,or doesn't give top quality service,to bring your salon down.Give an excellent service,give the customer your undivided attention,and always be on time,and you won't ever have to worry about customers leaving. The owner brought in deposits weekly between $250 and $450, depending on the season, time of year, proms, holidays, etc. She also got payments from the stylists that ';rented'; out their space in her building that totalled around $160-$200 a week. The stylist that banked with us would bring in $80 deposits sometimes and other times she would bring in $400. It varied a great deal throughout the year.
ok well there is a couple different methods.
if you are on comission, where you're an employee of the salon, it varies... but usually 50/50 to 60/40 precent of your weekly income, and most places give you 10% on retail sales...
and if you're booth renting, where you're considered self employed, you make 100% of your weekly income, however you must remember that 30% of your annual income you have to pay taxes on..... but you can lessen your amount you have to pay in with buisness expences aka write-offs....
now your income depends on your clintele.... ive been behind the chair 4 years so my average is 75K+ it starts off slow but you have to build yourself a client list... ex, market yourself with flyers, run an ad in your local paper and always have buisness cards onhand... good luck!

If you truly want a ';high-and-tight';, since that is more of a military cut, and those old guys usually did cuts for all the old vets in your neighborhood. If you just want a fade, usually, any supercuts-type chain salon or similar establishment will usually have a few people who can do really good fades, as it is a VERY popular haircut. Hope it helps! Any person who says Marion Barber hasn't watched football for the past 7 years. Sure, Marion Barber played on the NFC Pro Bowl team, but really, does that mean anything? Marion Barber plays behind a great offensive line on a great offensive team-- the Cowgirls. Look at Jamaal Lewis and you see during his years in Baltimore he had a terrible offense around him. I mean TERRIBLE. Many times he had to break 5 tackles just to run for a touchdown due bad blocking. In 2003, his bruising running style was the ONLY reason he had 2000+ yards that year. And that's the reason why he's still a dominant back today. Marion Barber is good, but geez, give him a full year at starter and I bet he gets hurt with the way he runs.
Lewis was more powerful back before he went to jail but now its the Barbarian. Lewis is still good but Mbeezy makes people think twice about tackling him, that how Lewis was, Lewis is still good just not the punisher he use to be which is good. Running hard and bruising takes a toll on your body. Marion's young but I hope he changes his style a little so he can play out his new contract and get another.

Lewis I think,though I would rather have a Barber type back on my team. Barber can run between the tackles yet can hit the corners with good speed. also Barber is a better reciever out of the backfield.
I'd say Lewis because he can actually push people down while he has the ball. Power backs, like Jamal, take short, choppy steps when they are running, which gives them a stronger arm to knock down defenders.

Any person who says Marion Barber hasn't watched football for the past 7 years. Sure, Marion Barber played on the NFC Pro Bowl team, but really, does that mean anything? Marion Barber plays behind a great offensive line on a great offensive team-- the Cowgirls. Look at Jamaal Lewis and you see during his years in Baltimore he had a terrible offense around him. I mean TERRIBLE. Many times he had to break 5 tackles just to run for a touchdown due bad blocking. In 2003, his bruising running style was the ONLY reason he had 2000+ yards that year. And that's the reason why he's still a dominant back today. Marion Barber is good, but geez, give him a full year at starter and I bet he gets hurt with the way he runs.

I'd say Lewis because he can actually push people down while he has the ball. Power backs, like Jamal, take short, choppy steps when they are running, which gives them a stronger arm to knock down defenders.

They also use a Barbercide, and disinfectants on all tools, and instruments. Ask the Barber you visit which he use's. I would be very surprised if it isn't the type i mentioned. Other wise there would be a risk as with any blood product. Good Luck!

if you get a side fringe, ask for it shorter at one side then so it gets longer [razor]

On offense the Cowboys season is going to be dependant on the success of Roy Williams as the Number 1 Wideout. If he can become the great WR that he is capable of then the cowboys should win the division. They also have the best 3 RB tandem in the league with Barber, Choice and Jones. The 3 RB's should combine to lead the league in rushing this year. However their success will be greatly dependant on the success of Roy Williams and Tony Romo's development.
The Defense was truly amazing the second half of last year. That success should continue especially since the secondary has been improved with the departure of Safety Roy Williams and the addition of Gerald Sensabaugh. The corner backs will also be better with a healthy Terrence Newman and an additional year of experience from Jenkins and Scandrick. The OLB combo of the Best Defensive player in NFL Demarcus Ware and Anthony Spencer should prove to be a deadly year of brutal sacks and QB pressures. Their success however is hinging upon Spencer breaking his injury streak and staying healthy for a year. If Spencer gets injured again it could spell trouble because Greg Ellis has departed to the raider nation. There is not a lot of depth at this position so it is a glaring weakness.
All in all I believe the Cowboys will be in contention for the NFC east title as well as have a good shot at winning the super bowl. But if Roy Williams can't produce and flops then it could be disastrous.

It's going to be a DISASTER. Jerry Jones had to pick one: T.O. or Tony Romo, and he picked Romo. Romo is a loser who is going to get exposed. And when he does, early in the season, that team will essentially fall apart. The running game will do OK. Roy Williams is not going to be a star WR.

I think their season will be good. But i am kind of concerned, becuase of they lost a lot of good players. To start off, they lost T.O., Greg Ellis, Roy Williams, Packman Jones, and ect. I know most of the players were trouble for the team, but they always delivered, espcially T.O.
I am hoping that the Cowboys can still do good with Roy Williams as the #1 WR. But overall they will be a good team. I can see them in the playoffs.
It's going to be a DISASTER. Jerry Jones had to pick one: T.O. or Tony Romo, and he picked Romo. Romo is a loser who is going to get exposed. And when he does, early in the season, that team will essentially fall apart. The running game will do OK. Roy Williams is not going to be a star WR.
I think tony is a 'hollywood QB' but from what I read he is a really nice guy, so I am not going to knock him.
Marion barber is a hard runner, which I think will cut his career short unfortunately.
Rest of the cowboys..well Im a Giants fan and I am trying to answer this question with all honesty.
marion barber is a solid RB, and witten is one of the best TE's in the league,and ware is a sack machine, but for tony romo he will put up probowl stats until december again.
Their SEASON is gonna look like L's next to the EAGLES.

It's not just hope for the future but a belief that this hope and joy is perpetual and that life cycles from good to bad to good. Nothing ever stays bad.
When our hope, our joy and our faith ends, we give into despair and fear and into our desperate needs. This despair and fear and these cravings are what the carnival later feeds on. (In the movie, the barber pole slows downs and stops when Halloran gives into his fears and dies in the library.)

I will come across as sounding like a total snob here, but that's not it at all. My dad did not have a college degree yet he was insistent that my sister and I attend college. He loved studying, reading and learning new things and was easy to talk to but realized he had less opportunities because of his lack of college. So after attending college I realized the guys I dated that did not have a degree weren't as challenging to my mind as those with more education. But that still doesn't mean that I wouldn't have married someone without a degree. If someone brilliant came along that I was attracted to, I really wouldn't have cared as long as we had things in common and enjoyed good conversations, theatre, travel, etc.

I wouldn't marry someone who drank alcohol, was a gang banger or sold drugs. That's just not the type of man I would be attracted to. I don't mind someone who is a blue collar worker. To me it's about having an HONEST work ethic. As my gram says, ';Why marry a fool, when you can marry a wise man.';

I always get shy when I go to the barber shop... I guess because I'm usually the youngest person there.. everyone else is older, taller, and more intimidating. It has to be under a barber who has an INSTRUCTORS license,,,in the state I am in you have to have 2 licensed insrtuctors on duty to work with the apprentice,,,,the goal of the apprentice is to get a license, and doing it this way takes about twice as many hours. It has to be under a barber who has an INSTRUCTORS license,,,in the state I am in you have to have 2 licensed insrtuctors on duty to work with the apprentice,,,,the goal of the apprentice is to get a license, and doing it this way takes about twice as many hours. The first time I took my son to get his haircut, the barber was a very old grumpy man that apparantly did not care for kids. He was forcefully moving my sons head and demanding he sit still. I take the blame on that one, I should have made sure his first experience would be with someone nice.
He is 6 now and still does not like to go...but he will tolerate it without much of a fuss.
My daughter (now 17) LOVED to have her hair cut when she was little. From the earliest age - at her first haircut - to her it was a day at the spa - a beauty treatment! She adored the attention and the pampering.
But my son (now 12) was terrified his first time. He cried and cried and was unable to be comforted. Later he told me that the lights were bright, he didnt know these people, and they were coming at him with sharp scissors - why WOULDN'T he be scared??
To this day he still does not like it but he goes.
Some children are people persons who enjoy the fuss and the attention - others are not. It just depends on the child.

if you aspire to have a specific look , you will tell him about the wedding and pay him what he asks .
if you dont have this aspiration, just go a day earlier to have a haircut without telling him about the wedding date .

My friends and I are developing some scheduling software. Basically, a customer could go online and schedule a hair appointment. Would this work for a barber/hairstylist? Why or why not?Could a barber/hair stylist use scheduling software?

1) Does a person need a shampoo first....I didn't ask if the WANTED one. When they walk in the door, do then NEED one?
2) How many people will never show or leave after they get there when then see several people waiting?
3) How will you determine how much time is needed per customer? Stylists work at their speed, some customers prefer scissors only, etc.
4) How would you handle several people who click on an appointment at the same time?
5) Are you planning to leave slots open for ';walk-ins';?
6) Challenges with complex situations: Color, Perms, bleaching, longer hair, etc.Could a barber/hair stylist use scheduling software?

I cut my own hair and everyone in my house gets their hair cut by me. I have never had any training or any instruction, not even on video or on TV. I had the same cut for a long time and just kind of watched how they did it and tried it. It looks great. I have long layered hair. I do a pretty good job, and my sons won't go to a barber any more because I cut their hair better than the barbers do. Try it, but go slow and take off only a little each time. It will take forever the first time, but each time you will get better and faster. I am broke not stingy. Ha!

You will be able to see alive preview as you are building your new layout.
It's what I currently do to create my own layouts and I love it!

I mean, today I got my hair cut and it was a friend of my moms that did it.
It looks HORRIBLE.

Have you tried washing it and then trying to do something with it? Remember, hair grows in really fast, especially in the summer. I would not go back to that barber ever again. I don't care whose friend she is!! Everything will be OK. I know a bad haircut can make you physically ill, but in a couple weeks , with some mousse, it'll be manageable. In the meantime just wear a hat. You'll be lucky if you can wear a hat to work. Just think of all the people with problems WAY worse than yours, Kinda puts everything into perspective. There's certain rules one must learn to follow in order to make life easier, and one of those rules is to NEVER let friends (or friends of a friend, or even friends of your mom) cut your hair.
That said... the best way to take care of it, would be to just tell her you're not really happy with the haircut. Will it change anything? Nope. But at least she'll know.
Next time... get your hair cut by someone whose ';work'; you have seen before, or go to a salon. It may cost a little bit more, but it'll probably be worth it in the end.

Wow..that happened to me (beauty shop) on my 21st birthday.
I wanted ';something special'; and let her do what she thought would look nice. I got hair the color of beets and a haircut that looked like something out of Ancient Egypt!!
I told her I hated it..she looked very blankly back at me..and said, Oh, you will get used to it!!
I tried to use haircolor to cover that beet red stuff she put on and ended up with 1/2 Red and 1/2 black hair.
I finally went to an expensive shop and they cut my hair real short and got the color back to normal. I never went back to the first place.
Just tell her, you are not happy with it..she might not be able to fix it, but someone can.
On the right side, your hair will grow back. Do not go back to a Cosmo College EVER again... they are trainees, and they need people to ';experiment'; on. Next time go to a recommended stylist (from one of your friends...just don't have a friend cut your hair, unless they are in the biz of cutting hair!!!)
You might want to go there in a few days, and BE NICE to her... tell her that your haircut did not turn out the way how you expected, and explain why--she would want to know specifics. Do not ';lecture'; her on how miserable your life has been for you. As she is a student, she will greatly appreciate your honesty and professionalism. But u really shouldn't be the one complaning..think what is going through the barbers head when you open the same type of business right next to him...I'm sure your will be more for woemna nd his for men. But its you taking his business not the othe way around.
I don't think there is any thing you can do. The barber is in his right to accept your coupons. You'll just have to build up a reputation and a client base that trust you and then you should have regular clients (depending on what sort of area you are in, if you are in a poorer area, people may be more price driven). Perhaps you have a blackboard and run random specials to try and deter any copy-cat behaviour from the barber. You just have to think creatively- figure what makes your business different and what sets you apart and create your own niche. Good Luck.

Should I trade Palmer and Chad Johnson for Marion Barber 3 and a pick in the rookie draft?

Honestly I think you would be giving up WAY too much.
Palmer is still one of the best QB's and as the Bengals improve he will put up even better numbers. This is a guy with 4,000 yard/30 TD potential and with the receiving targets he has, those are very REALISTIC predictions.
Johnson on the other hand is still one of the best receivers in the NFL. He is a downfield threat and gets tons of yards. The TD's will be there next season I believe.
The big reason I would say NO to this trade is because those 2 are so great, but Marion Barber is also a huge factor. He had great games last season and other games where he was not factored in at all. Yes, Julius Jones is likely not going to be back with Dallas, but they will still have a change of pace speed running back which means Barber will have those games where he doesn't do diddly squat which is something you want to avoid ESPECIALLY in head-to-head leagues.
And the draft pick isn't as big of a factor as people might think. Palmer and Johnson are going to have more of an effect than even the biggest rookie out there.

1)Thinning hair in areas where it is too thick is a part of every haircut. Your barber thins your hair for the style he cuts it. You might want it to look thinner after it has grown out, but it doesn't work like that because by that time the thinned hair has started to grow back.

Thick hair is ideal for regular taper cuts, and the short pomp styles-crew cut, ivy league(long crew cut), flat top crew cut. A good barber can design one of these styles to fully suit almost any young guy's head shape, face and neck shape, frontal hairline and facial features.
